Hi everyone! This is Andy your North East Editor (England) and Dachshund Rescue Ambassador and Mascot.
I had a very busy time last week. On Monday I had a make-over at my Aunty Pat’s, ready for my visit to the NEC for Professor Noel Fitzpatrick’ s The National Pet Show. My hair tends to grow just a tad thick, but a wash and brush up soon had me looking sleek and extra gorgeous.
There was more excitement on Friday when we collected my new Dachshund Rescue coat and as you can see it looks really smart. I wanted everyone at The National Pet Show to know who I am and more importantly, to become aware of the wonderful Dachshund Rescue scheme, who placed me with my mum and dad.
On Saturday it was the big day. We had to get up really early (5.30am!!) then leave at 6.30am for a 2 hour journey to the NEC. I was able to snooze in my bed so I was bright eyed and bushy tailed when we arrived
Aunty Diana and Dolly arrived at about the same time, so we all headed for the Dachshund Rescue Stand, which was always surrounded by big crowds. We had a super day meeting and greeting.
I had lots of fun going round on my mum’s mobility scooter and walking round with my dad. I got so much love and lots of attention from everyone. I think I was quite a celebrity! We visited the Fitzpatrick Referrals stand where Noel’s practice nurses thought I was so cute. We even saw Professor Fitzpatrick but unfortunately he was too busy to talk to me.
After a long day we said goodbye and set off for home. I was able to have a well earned sleep on the way back. After such a busy, exciting and fun day, I was one very sleepy pup, and can’t wait for the next show, when I will be an even more experienced Editor and Ambassador for Dachshund Rescue.
