Preparing for Just Dogs Live 2018

It's Show Time!

If you live in East Anglia, you really should not miss this show. It's just great! If you live further afield, well get yourselves here, book a B&B, come camping, stay at a local hotel, sleep on the beach, which isn't that far away, so that you can get to Just Dogs Live 2018 at the Peterborough Arena & Showground.  The show runs for  three days,  Friday/Saturday/Sunday. 6/7/8 July. If you fancy coming by rail, ring Janet at Just Dogs Live, and she will arrange a 30% discount on your fare! Details on their website:

Just DogsLive runs alongside the East of England Championship Dog Show, so you will find yourselves rubbing shoulders with the best pooches in the country. You can watch the judging and make your ring-side choices in the breed classes and group competitions. Best in Show is awarded on the Sunday, which you can also watch, even if you cannot give the cup and rosette

If that's not your thing, then just come along and enjoy the Just Dogs Live elements. Their website says that "Everyone is welcome, and don’t forget to bring Fido!"

For pooches wanting to show off, you can enter the Companion Dog Show , or the Scruffts Heat. For active pooches there are have a go Agility Sessions, the Scurry and Steeple Chase, Rally. Afterwards you can restore your equilibrium with a bit of Dog Yoga!

If you are happy being an onlooker, then our friends at UK & HWV Agility Display Team (we met them at Crufts) will be there, as well as our pals, the East Anglian Staffordshire Display Team. Other display teams will also be available, for instance the beautiful Newfounlands who are always a big attraction.

If your poor bones get tired with all the activity, then pop and see the Canine Massage Guild who will be happy to loosen up those aching limbs for the rest of the day.

For celeb hunters, well look out for our friend and TV vet Marc the Vet. He's a great chap and very easy to talk to.

Whichever day you choose to visit Just Dogs Live, be aware that it might well be very hot. Last year it was roasting! Take a cooling mat, and a cooling towel or coat e.g. Aquamat, but PLEASE keep the towel or coat wet! If allowed to dry out, they can scorch the poor pooch. And take loads of water....for yourself and for your human. If you are an avid recycler, there is mains water onsite to enable you to fill your bottle.

Oh, and the ice cream is VERY good!

We hope the pictures from previous years will give you a little idea of what this great show is like.
