Labour Day with Buddy Dackel

Your correspondent Buddy Dackel-Blakey here reporting from Australia. I have been out and about in fabulous Surfers Paradise sniffing out stories over this long weekend ... the labour day holiday. A free music festival called Surfers Paradise Live is being staged across the weekend with lots and lots of top name bands playing day and night. The main stage is on our world famous beachfront

I took the pawents to see a band play cool New Orleans style soul and blues today in beautiful autumn weather. Mum and I totally grooved to the music. Music is a central part of my family life as Hoodad is a mastering engineer and the festival actually kicked off with a music awards night a couple of nights earlier.

Unhappily, this was not sausage dog friendly and even though Hoodad's clients came away with Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (double platinum sales and number 1 iTunes) as well as best video I couldn't get past security. At least the rest of the festival is Dachshund friendly.

The Daxington Post Hoodad and chart topping, double platinum pop star Amy Shark (Sony Music Entertainment) at the awards (they worked together on her no 1 song).

It has been a real honor to be Editor of the Month in April 2017.
