Life starts to get busy busy for Daxington Post reporters at this time of the year, and we are kicking off 2017 dog show season with the wonderfully entertaining All About Dogs show at Newark, Nottinghamshire, England on April 22-23rd. We are assured we won't be bored!
The star of the show at Newark this year is Britain’s Got Talent finalist ‘Trip Hazard’. 'Trip' as he is affectionately known, is a gorgeous Maltese-Pomeranian cross and those who saw him and his trainer, Lucy Heath on TV will know they are in for a treat.
All about Dogs is the UK’s largest series of fun festivals for dogs and their families and it's going to be packed with attractions in the arena. Have-a-go activities will also be on offer, and who knows, you might even be able to take a dip in the doggy diving pool!
If that's not your 'thing' there will be plenty of opportunities for your humans to buy treats, gifts and all sorts of doggy necessities. Make sure you put paw to paper or iPad to list your requirements, and before leaving home, check that their credit cards are good for some serious investments!
We are told that there will be thousands of visitors to the show, as it is a hugely popular event. We are not surprised! There's a Village Green area, where there will be a stage with a combination of dog advice experts and a range of musical entertainment.
There will be Agility and obedience displays, flyball fun, and a dog display team doing their stuff. All of this will be topped by a clever and exciting performance of canine tricks and routines by Britain’s Got Talent finalist Trip Hazard and Lucy Heath.
For us family pets, there is a dog show if you feel like strutting your stuff for a rosette. We may enter Dolly in the Veteran class, as she's always ready to show off her many attractive features (she tells us) especially if there's a treat on offer! Who knows, we could even bring home Best in Show. Well, we can dream, can't we?
If that's not enough for you, All About Dogs is the perfect place to meet and learn about different dog breeds as an astonishing array of shapes and sizes can be found among the Breed Stands. Here you will be able to research the habits, traits and personalities of everything from Labradors to Chihuahuas and talk to their owners.
Who would want to miss this wonderful event? Not us! It is going to be a great fun day for everyone. If you plan to be there, please say 'Hello' if you see us. We will be in our black stroller, aka 'The Bentley' signed with The Daxington Post Logo, so hopefully you won't miss us.
